You already know this intuitively. Penny Stocks require less money because they are priced under a dollar. But understanding something intuitively is not enough, especially when your money is involved.

No matter what kind of stock you invest in, the value can go up but it can also go down. Some go up more than others and some go down more than others. So, how can we be smart about investing. Diversification. To paraphrase your mother, don't put all your eggs in one basket.

What will you invest in if you don't have a sizable enough amount of money to diversify appropriately? Do you have $10,000 to invest? If not, penny stocks may be the answer. Instead of buying stock priced at $30 or $50, you can purchase shares in good companies at $1 or less. This means that you can purchase more shares and broaden your investment choices, ie. Diversification.

For example, you have $1000 to invest. If you want to invest in Apple, Inc. you would be able, without a margin, to purchase 2 shares ($381.20 per share at the writing of this article). Unfortunately, purchasing single shares is very difficult to accomplish and even more difficult to sell. If you choose Ford Motor, Inc., priced at $10.32 per share, you could purchase 96 shares. This, too, would be difficult. You might be able to purchase 100 shares easily and, therefore, need more than $1000 (I think you understand where I am going with this). If you purchase three different stocks, each priced at $1, you could purchase 300 shares for two of them, and 400 shares for the third. You would be diversifying, and when it came time to sell, hopefully after the stock price has increased, selling in 100 share lots is very easy.

A word on gains and losses for stocks priced under a dollar: This is really a mental game and one that requires an adjustment in perspective. A one-percent gain in the share price of Apple, Inc. today would create a net gain of $3.81. A net gain of one percent in a Penny Stock would be one penny. Which one is more attractive to you? Most people would say earning 1% on Apple, Inc. The smart trader would say the one-dollar share. Why? Because the smart investor knows that momentum in the price of a stock is entirely relative to the price of one share. One percent on Apple, Inc. is momentum and, for investors in this stock, momentum of this sort is a great thing. For the investor of shares under $1, it is not momentum and not cause for celebration. This is the good part. Momentum is where you want to be as the investor. Momentum is subjective, to be sure, but if a $1 per share stock began to exhibit momentum with a gain of 2% or 5%, then the investor will see a much higher return on investment per dollar. For this reason, these types of shares can and do produce far bigger gains than the tried and true 'winners' of the Market, such as Apple, Inc. Be smart. Do the math. Find a system that will allow you to spot momentum.

A Word About Risk

Everyone has a good understanding about the word Risk: a good understanding except when it comes to investment risk. Intelligent investors don't view investment risk as the possibility that the stock will drop and they will lose money. It is much broader than that. Investment Risk is simply the likelihood that the investment will perform outside of the expectation. It could 'outperform' or it could 'underperform.'

The reason that most people understand Risk in terms of what could go wrong is that losing their money is a far more extreme experience than the pleasure of getting more money in return. Their fear rules over their greed. The true investor sees both sides, understanding that neither is good nor bad, just outside of the expectation and quite possibly an opportunity.

For example, if you invested $500 in a group of penny stocks and checked in with the investment the next day, you might see one of three things. There could be no change; that is, the overall value of what you invested has not changed significantly. You could look the next day and see what you always feared; that is, the value has gone down precipitously. Or, you take a look at the investments and there is a solid gain in overall value; that is, some stock have grown, some have diminished, but overall, the net value has increased. We all want to see that.

But there is a deeper picture there. Some of these stocks have performed outside of their expectation. They have become risky.

Risk, therefore, is the possibility that an investment will perform outside of its expectations. There is a chance that you will not get what you hoped to get, either more or less.

Keep these things in mind. Keep the idea that surging or plunging stock prices are neither good nor bad. They are simply results outside the expectations. You might be laughing in derision at this point. But if a stock drops in value outside your expectation it may not be the time to get out. It may be the time to increase the investment as it is an 'unexpected' drop and will correct. If the stock surges in value, it may not be the time to hold on or increase the investment. It has performed in an 'unexpected' way. It may be time to take the money and run. Decide for yourself. You are the one assuming the risk and will be the one receiving the reward.

Forex Millions, No Experience, With Forex Robots

Forex robots, also branded as 'expert advisors', are merely one of the many forex software choices available to private forex traders. Aside from the profit Prospective, certain forex traders are drawn to utilizing forex robots because the difficulty and complication of having to gain knowledge of the market themselves can be a bit scary.

Forex robots are automated programs, designed to run on the popular Metatrader 4 platform. They automatically carry out every viewpoint of forex trading on a trader's behalf, from the systematic work to actually initiating the trade, watching over it, and closing it out.

If you like challenge and can not hardly pass the time to secure this trade and make big profit, you better get a Forex robot and study this forex forecast also.

Except for learning how to trade you may possibly want to be cautious for the reason that most of these Forex robots products do not work satisfactorily for the majority of traders. They are either too complex for the beginning forex trader to put into practice, or more likely, they are just plain rubbish.

Forex software turn up in various varieties, and deciding on a suitable program can be tough. What's right for you will depend not only on your competence degree, but on what you are searching to accomplish.
If you are searching for a set it and forget it program that will do your trading for you, then automated forex software (or forex robots) might be the thing for you.

Operating a forex robot can offer a trader the following advantages: It takes away the emotion out of trading and frees you up from having to take a seat at your computer for hours on end ahead for the next trade setup.

What to do when you bought Forex trading software?
Frankly it's absolutely trouble-free, do what the program tells you! When you should decide to take on your own approach you will crash time and time again.

Basically, Forex trading software is what's known as an automated Forex trading platform. This is a computer program that's designed to trade for you, without any input from you at all apart from having to spend around ten minutes setting it up. In effect it's simply a piece of software that acts as an qualified Forex trader, making the right decisions for you.

The key benefit to using Forex trading software is that an out-and-out Forex novice can start using the program right away, with no knowledge of how it really works.

The Advantages of Spread Betting

Spread betting has several advantages over traditional ways of buying and selling financial assets such as shares, forex, commodities and indices.

The first, and most commonly cited, reason is that profits are exempt from tax in the UK and many other European countries. This is due to it being regarded as a form of gambling and not as investing as you never actually own the asset. This is despite the industry being regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and so seems to a slightly incoherent policy. However the government is unlikely to introduce an income tax on the profits from trading any time soon as the bookmakers could move their business offshore and the government would lose a significant amount of revenue.

This differs from traditional forms of buying financial assets in that profits and dividends are taxed and you have to pay stamp duty. In fact, dividends are taxed in a sense, as the spread betting company will only pay out 80% - 90% of the dividend in order to stop people avoiding tax, so this slightly reduces the no tax advantage, but there is still a significant benefit of not having profits taxed.

A second advantage is that it allows individuals to hold a short position. This is often hard for private investors to do using actual assets. Spread betting therefore allows individuals to bet on an asset falling in value, as well allowing them to hedge current positions.

Spread betting is also useful for individual investors as it allows them access to financial assets that they otherwise may have not been able to buy. For example an investor is able to have a position on commodities, which they may not have been able to through traditional methods.

Finally spread betting allows people to leverage their positions, so that they can have a much larger exposure to the market than the actual money they have would allow them to if they bought the asset using traditional means. However this is also the riskiest part as it allows for greater profits, but also greater losses. And since you can leverage your position this means that you can in fact lose more money than you have deposited, therefore leverage should be used very carefully.

So spread betting allows investors to have access to financial assets they may not traditionally have had, as well as allowing them to short assets in a more accessible way. It also allows people to keep more of their profits and to have greater exposure to markets than through traditional means.

Using Spread Betting to Hedge Current Positions

Hedging positions is key to the strategies of many hedge funds as it allows them to protect against market movements as they can profit, or reduce losses, if the market moves either way. This means that the performance of their portfolio closer reflects the quality of their individual stock or commodities picks, as opposed to market movements in general, and this is particularly useful in times of market volatility.

Hedging simply means holding a position that will increase in value if another in your portfolio decreases in value. So one example may be hedging a position in an oil company by shorting oil. If the price of oil is high the oil company is likely to do well, and if the price of oil falls you gain from shorting it, but a good company will fall less than a bad one if the oil price falls so overall you should profit, but also reduce your risk. Another example could be holding an index tracker such as for the FTSE 100 at the same time as holding gold, which tends to fall when people feel there is lots of risk and sell equities.

However many people feel that these strategies are only available to hedge funds, or at least those with lots of capital to invest. Whilst this is true for traditional forms of hedging, spread betting allows private investors to participate with less capital.

Spread betting allows users to buy and sell a range of assets that may otherwise be unavailable to them. These include commodities such as gold and oil as well currencies and equities. Using a spread betting account therefore allows private investors to limit their risk and increase their profitability without requiring huge amounts of capital.

There are additional advantages to using spread betting as well. These include lower tax than traditional investing, lower dealing costs for short or medium term holdings and access to a wider range of assets.

All this means that it is particularly useful for short periods of time. So if you hold an index tracker and think that they next few days, weeks, or months are going to be volatile, instead of selling and sitting on your cash you can profit by hedging your positions. This is particularly effective if you use hedging as a short-term way to limit risk to a long-term portfolio, as you would not have sold anyway but still manage to profit from volatility.

Binary Option: What Exactly Is It About?

In finance, a binary option describes an option in which the payoff will be an specific amount of a specific asset or nothing at all. It's called a binary option because there are just two outcomes possible. This contract can be known as an all-or-nothing, fixed return, or digital option.

You can find two types offered - the cash-or-nothing option and the asset-or-nothing option. With the former, you get paid a set amount if it expires in the money. Conversely, the second pays the value of the underlying assets.

How does binary options trading work?

Binary options trading works this way. Rather than buying or selling assets, you will be asked to put a "wager" on how a certain stock or market will move. For instance, if you think maybe a particular commodity will be higher at a specific period, you put a trade under a "call option." In the event you believe otherwise, you trade under a "put option."

What happens after I invest in options trading?

It depends on the platform you choose. With a regular option, you will find there's specific waiting period before the trade contract can begin. You'll also need to wait for the payout date as this can be set for several days later.

Binary options trading are quite different. A person can begin a trade contract a lot more quickly and set this against an hour's time. The amount of websites providing this service has gone up in number. If you are considering investing your dollars in the trade, you have to first learn as much as you possibly can about this.

History of the Trade

Most people believe that binary options was discovered just recently. You can imagine that this is the case because the concept has only been formalized in the last few decades. On the contrary, it has actually been around for a thousand years. For the purposes of this discussion, however, we'll discuss the modern practice which has its beginnings in the 1970s.

In 1973, the Chicago Board of Exchange (CBOE) and the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) formalized the practice. Both of these organizations offered a regulated platform for options trading. The way options are traded today are based on the paramenters established by the CBOE and OCC.

What is Binary Options Trading?

Binary options trading is a business enterprise where investors predict the outcome of a certain asset within a certain period of time. It is called "binary" seeing as there are just two possible outcomes to the trade: either the price goes up or down. Traders speculate whether an asset will increase or decreases value instead of acquiring the specific asset. If a trader is correct, he or she will make a percentage of the initial investment. Depending on the options broker, an incorrect guess will lead to retaining a small amount of the initial investment, or none at all.

It's wise to figure out if the trade is conducted in European or American style just before going into the practice. Although the terms appear to be region specific, they're not confined to a specific market. The American style of trade is much more likely to pay out than its counterpart.

What are the risks and advantages?

Like every other business enterprise, this manner of trade has its advantages and disadvantages. Investors must be mindful of the risks they take when entering this business. Make sure to trade only the money that you can afford. The market fluctuates so understand that even though the chances are small, you may lose everything. Don't invest money you don't have or capital that is reserved for other interests like retirement or a child's education. Be wise about this.
